Morocco’s tourism has been booming in the last few decades. This is what the government has announced. More people from various parts of the world choose to travel to Morocco than to other countries in the region.
Morocco Tourism
Morocco’s tourism has suffered a lot before because of a lack of infrastructure and weak touristic activities. The government created a challenge 5 years ago to reach more than 1 million tourists in a very short period of time.
The Ministry of Tourism has implemented serious work, and the minister has stressed how important it is that all sectors be more inventive, contemporary, and up-to-date.
Why is Morocco’s tourism booming so fast?
As an agency working in this vital sector, we have conducted our own research and asked so many new travellers the reason behind their choice. Most of the tourists that we have talked to have poointed on one important aspect. Morocco is exotic.
Well! We can say that Egypt is also exotic, and other Arab countries are exotic as well, because they offer something really different that western tourists have at home. Still, Morocco offers a different experience. Different locals have different languages and customs. The food is different and very delicious every time you visit a different city or village.
Other tourists pointed to the fact that Morocco is a beautiful country with wonderful landscapes to see and discover. I actually agree. Morocco offers a variety that other countries do not offer. You can find high mountains and Sahara in the same country. You can also experience winter time in some places and enjoy the dry, healthy weather in most cities of the country.
All these reasons are good, but I am not satisfied yet. The answers I got from my travellers while driving them from one city to another revealed more than what I expected.
A 50-year-old American man from Chicago tried to explain the main reason behind choosing Morocco over so many other African or Arab countries to have a tour. He mentioned that he is concerned with safety more than anything else.
Is Morocco a safe country to travel to?
According to international reports, Morocco is one of the safest countries in the world for tourists. The Moroccan government has put all its efforts into making the stay of tourists as safe as their home country.
Toursim needs safety measurements, and the way Moroccan authorities see it, it is a priority for successful tourism in the country. As a guide myself, I need to feel safe traveling with my clients, let alone travellers who visit the country and do not know anything about it.
As an expert in the field of tourism in Morocco, I can say that Morocco is safe for anyone who wishes to spend a good vacation or a long tour. This decision is based on a long experience with my clients who visit the country, and it dates back to 1999. Since that time, I have never had a problem whatsoever.
